Trivia question: Where are the best places to go for Trivia Night in Myrtle Beach? Fortunately for trivia whizzes, it’s a multiple choice answer.

Compass Cove Oceanfront Resort guests can play every night of the week, and there are several options of places to play, including restaurants, bars, bowling alleys and brew pubs, where you can put on your thinking caps and put all that useless knowledge you have accumulated into winning a bar tab.

For the uninitiated, the questions may be hard but the concept is simple: Each table forms a team and competes against others in answering trivia questions. Teams quietly debate each answer, write it on a slip of paper and turn it in before the timer to the host, who keeps score and awards prizes.

There is a wide variety of topics (history, sports, pop culture, etc.) and a broad range of locations hosting Team Trivia. Some are held in more family friendly establishments while others offer a bar setting. Some have leagues and are very competitive while others provide a more casual atmosphere.

No matter how you like to play, all you have to do is pick a day. We’ve even arranged the Trivia Nights in calendar form and highlighted our top picks:

Sunday: Although Sunday is a slow night for trivia on the Grand Strand, there are a couple of places willing to give your brain a workout on the day of rest. Murphy’s Law in Carolina Forest offers a sports bar setting, while Old Chicago Pizza in Murrells Inlet is more of a family environment. Both start at 6 p.m.

Monday: Sink your teeth into some juicy food and questions at Fork ‘N Links, a new restaurant and pub on the South Strand that specializes in hamburgers, hot dogs and cold beer. Other options include Buffalo Wild Wing in North Myrtle Beach and Tavern in the Forest in Carolina Forest. All shows start at 7 p.m.
