In addition to featuring plenty of water amenities to help guests seek sweet relief, including swimming pools, water slides, lazy river and splash pads, Compass Cove also offers lots of opportunities for liquid refreshments. That includes tasty drinks for adults and virgin-versions for kids.

Start your day with a delicious array of fruit juices, mimosas and Bloody Marys for breakfast at the on-site Compass Rose Restaurant, or enjoy a tasty Starbucks latte, frappe or iced coffee at Compass Joe’s. Getting well-hydrated before you soak up some sun is a big help.

But spending the day on the beach or poolside can work up a powerful thirst. Guests can quench it at the oceanfront Tiki Hut, which serves a wide selection of frozen drinks, coladas, margaritas and other specialty concoctions, such as the Dirty Banana and the Key Lime Colada.

Compass Cove guests can also escape the heat for lunch and drinks at the Crow’s Nest Restaurant & Lounge, or enjoy dinner with a beautiful ocean breeze and view on the outdoor deck. Order one of the famous Voodoo Buckets, Bahama Mamas, Southern Sippers or other house specials.

But for guests who plan to explore the Grand Strand and all it has to offer, we’ve put together a list of local hot spots where you can quench your thirst with some of Myrtle Beach’s most famous beverages. Here’s a list of some of the most popular mixed drinks in town:

Banana Banshee: Our guests go bananas over this frozen drink, one of dozens served up at Fat Tuesday at Broadway at the Beach. The Banana Banshee features banana liqueur, crËme de cacao and vanilla soft serve with your choice of vodka or rum. Other popular blender creations include the Blood Orange, Octane 190 and Strawberry Daiquiri.

Call A Cab: This drink comes with a safety suggestion, a good idea given the fact that it is the strongest beverage served at Wet Willies at Broadway at the Beach. he name says it all. Featuring cherry and strawberry flavors with generous portions of 190-proof grain alcohol and Bacardi rum, this might be the only drink you want or need.

Grand Strand Lemonade: Locals swear by this refreshing drink served at Ocean Annie’s Beach Bar. Combining bourbon, triple sec, lime, sour and Sprite into one tasty concoction, Ocean Annie’s makes a mean local version of the Long Island Tea. Order it by the bucket and share.

Raubertaís Punch: Mixology is an art at Art Burger Sushi Bar, which serves a variety of tasty drinks in addition to the items in the title. Take a timeout from your stroll down the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk for a refreshing drink at this art-themed eatery. The Raubertaís Punch includes Apple Puckers, orange juice, Monin Strawberry, Passion Fruit 42 Below vodka, and a splash of pineapple.

Sangria Swirl: A bad case of brain freeze never felt so good at Abuelo’s, the perfect place to take a break from shopping at the adjoining Coastal Grand Mall. Featuring the housemade sangria, made of fresh fruit and berries, swirled in a large glass with Abuelo’s La Grandeza Margarita, this drink is as attractive as it is tasty.

Sweet Tea Rita: Jimmy Buffett knows a thing or two about “frozen concoctions that help me hang on,” and his Margaritaville at Broadway at the Beach proves it. There are countless versions of boat drinks to choose from, but the Sweet Tea Rita uses South Carolina’s own Firefly Sweet Tea Vodka with the crooners own brand of margarita mix to create a true Southern specialty drink.

There’s a six-pack of mixed drinks to help keep you cool in Myrtle Beach this summer. Book your vacation getaway at Compass Cove Resort and say “Cheers!” for a fun and tasty retreat.
