Top 5 Places to Get Coffee in Myrtle Beach

Top 5 Places to Get Coffee in Myrtle Beach

At first glance, a hot cup of coffee might not sound like the ideal beverage of choice at a hot spot like Myrtle Beach. A dry, sandy mouth prefers something cold over a hot cup of Joe, but many coffee houses now sell as many fruit smoothies and iced teas as they do the traditional cup of coffee. And there are moments, like watching the sunrise over the Atlantic Ocean from your hotel balcony, or a chilly night on the beach, when a cup of coffee is just the thing to hit the spot. So if you are looking to get your coffee fix while vacationing in Myrtle Beach, be sure to check one of these five coffee houses:

Boardwalk Coffee House: Head downtown for a hot cup of Joe and a cool location in the heart of the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk. Guests can take a break from the beach or shopping at this popular spot. Enjoy the air-conditioned indoors or grab a cup to go while you take in the sights and sounds of Plyler Park, where free concerts, fireworks and festivals are held throughout the summer months. Serving a variety of coffees, teas and fruit smoothies are on the menu, along with a limited selection of sweets and treats. Boardwalk Coffee House also has a second location at Barefoot Landing in North Myrtle Beach.

Collector's Cafe: For a more formal coffee house experience, visit this Myrtle Beach establishment that doubles as a fine dining restaurant and an art gallery. Known for its food and art, Collector's Cafe's best kept secret is it European-style coffee room that attracts an upscale crowd with sophisticated coffee palates. Enjoy a unique blend with a shot of your favorite cordial and check out the paintings by local artists that adorn the walls. The coffee room draws a trendy clientele and a nice after-dinner crowd.

Fresh Brewed Coffee House: Located in the Five Points district of downtown Myrtle Beach on Broadway Avenue, this hot spot in the historic district attracts an eclectic mix of folks who share a common love of coffee. Offering a variety of unique coffee drinks and other beverages, Boardwalk Coffee House hosts open mic nights for poetry slams and live music. Filled with couches and other cozy furnishings, this place feels like home. Select an old board game from the shelf and play Trivial Pursuit or Battleship, or find a quiet corner and read or work on a computer with free Wi-Fi available.

Roasted Bean: Situated in the Market Common shopping district close to Compass Cove, the Roasted Bean features a trendy location and crowd. With a motto like “Where getting roasted at the beach is cool beans” reflects the light atmosphere, which features a mix of shoppers taking a break from the stores and locals using the free Wi-Fi to catch up on e-mails and work. Serving a wide selection of hot and cold coffee drinks, the Roasted Bean is a great place to hang out and try something different to put some pep in your step as you stroll around Market Common.

Second Cup Cafe: Located in the Dunes section of Myrtle Beach, this strip mall cafe offers a wide selection of coffees, smoothies, and other beverages, as well as serving baked goods and light lunch items. The cozy corner unit at Northwoods Shopping Center also provides free Wi-Fi and indoor/outdoor seating. A creative lineup of lattes, mochas, espressos and more have quickly made this a hot spot for coffee snobs, but the atmosphere is light and friendly. Be sure to check the chalkboard out front for the daily specials.
