* Beach, Boogie & BBQ Festival (Aug. 31-Sept. 1): This 13th annual event features just what the name says – music, dancing and mouth-watering food. Held at The Market Common, about 2 miles from the resort, this event allows patrons to sample barbecue, chicken wings and other tasty meats made by 25 competing cook-off teams from all over the Southeast. There's music and dancing at the main stage, a beer and wine garden, vendors, classic car show, and kids play area – truly an event for the whole family.

* Mustang Week: Thousands pay annual homage to the ultimate American muscle car beginning Labor Day weekend at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center. From Sept. 2-9, the classic cars roll into the parking lot and cruise down Ocean Boulevard for fans to see. The festival features a car show, cruise-ins, food and more.
