Top 5 Myrtle Beach BBQ Restaurants

Family recipes continue to be passed down over each generation, giving the Grand Strand a sweet smell and smoky flavor that can be found at a handful of establishments. Here are the top five places for BBQ in Myrtle Beach:

Prosser's BBQ: This family-owned eatery has been serving good country cooking since 1953 by doing barbecue the good ol' Southern way - slow smoked over hickory chips till it's tender and tasty.

Prosser's offers barbecue by the pound or as part of its country buffet, which features fried chicken, country-fried steak and home-style vegetables, but it's the barbecue that takes center stage.

Prosser's is located on Highway 17 Business in Murrells Inlet. Call 843-357-6146 for more information.

Sticky Fingers: The name says it all at this small but growing chain out of Charleston that offers finger-lickin', rib-stickin' barbecue straight from the South Carolina Lowcountry.

Specializing in pulled pork and baby-back ribs, Sticky Fingers provides down-home BBQ in a more modern/casual setting plus a wide range of barbecue flavors from all over the Southeast, from Memphis-style dry-rub ribs to Carolina pulled pork.

Sticky Fingers is located at 2461 Coastal Grand Circle in Myrtle Beach. For more information, call 843-839-2837 or visit the website at www.stickyfingers.com.

Big KT's BBQ Shack: This little barbecue and beer joint in North Myrtle Beach is famous for its ribs, which are smoked over hickory coals, slathered in Big KT's special sauce and cut to make them easier to eat.

In addition to melt-in-your-mouth BBQ, Big KT's also is known for its Southern-style ide items, such as tomato pie, Brunswick stew and hushpuppies. This place also serves cold draft beer to wash it down.

Big KT's is located at 1501 South Kings Highway in North Myrtle Beach. For more information, call 843)-427-4117.

Hog Heaven BBQ: This shack is located between Pawleys Island and Georgetown and features Lowcountry-style barbecue at its best.

Offering the more traditional vinegar-based sauce as well as South Carolina-style mustard based sauce, you can't go wrong ordering either one at this hidden gem on the Grand Strand.

Hog Heaven BBQ is located at 7147 Ocean Highway in Pawleys Island. For more information, call 843-237-7444 or visit the website at www.hogheaveninc.com.
