It’s Summer Year-Round at Compass Cove Resort

It’s Summer Year-Round at Compass Cove Resort

The Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce is wrapping up its “60 More Days of Summer” campaign, a program designed to let visitors know about the mild weather and light crowds on the Grand Strand during the months of September and October. Compass Cove Resort can do even better - like 365 days summer - for its guests.

No matter what the calendar or the thermometer say, it’s always summertime at Compass Cove. Our spacious indoor waterpark and outdoor pool deck with heated swimming pools, hot tubs and a lazy river provide the perfect warm-weather oasis for snow birds who are in need of a retreat to feel some heat in Myrtle Beach.

With mild temperatures well into autumn (on the date this article was written, Oct. 23, the high temperature in Myrtle Beach was 81 degrees), guests at Compass Cove can enjoy a day in the sun on the oceanfront pool deck and the tanning lawn, and even cool off with a refreshing dip in the pool or a relaxing ride down the lazy river. The little ones can splash and play in the kiddie pool and Silly Submarine aquatic playground area, and all ages, can take advantage of the adjoining beach accesses to go for a stroll along the coast.

But the fun doesn’t end at the Compass Cove on those chilly or rainy days and nights. Guests can simply dip indoors to the covered and climate controlled pools, and thrill-seekers can enjoy a different kind of chills on the enclosed waterslides and rides in the waterpark. That’s right, while all the waterparks around town are shut down for the offseason; Compass Cove has its very own indoor water paradise where you can get wet and warm. And to really crank up the heat a notch, jump into an inviting hot tub and soak your cares away.

The waterslides, the Compass Cruiser and the Schooner Screamer, are a set of twisting; turning flumes that carry brave guests for a wild ride before they splash down in the indoor pool area. Once at the bottom you can go for a dip in the heated pool or hot tubs, or shoot back up the steps for another ride. The glass house design of the see-through indoor pool deck allows warm sunshine to find its way through to sun-craved guests without the cold air, so guests can also soak up some rays by relaxing in the comfortable poolside chairs.

Guests can also heat things up with a little friendly competition on the shuffleboard court or the life-sized chess board and checker set. Or move the action to the indoor arcade for some spirited contests of skills in high-tech video games and some old-school classics. Guests can go shopping in the gift shop, knock out some work in the business center, or squeeze in a workout at the state of the art fitness center. For a more relaxing activity, take advantage of the free and unlimited DVD rentals for a family movie night.  Also, dine at the Compass Rose, the Crow’s Nest or the poolside Tiki Bar.

For those guests who want to venture out and about on the town but still keep the summertime theme going, here are a few suggestions for warm-weather attractions (Ripley’s Aquarium, The Fun Warehouse and the nearby Cancun Lagoon indoor putt-putt course), dining (Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville, Bummz Beach Café and Cheeseburger In Paradise) and shopping (Tiki Jim’s, Gay Dolphin Gift Cove and any of the local beachwear stores in the area). It’s all part of keeping summer alive year-round at Compass Cove Resort, Myrtle Beach.
