There’s a good chance the first activity your kids will want to attack when you arrive for your Myrtle Beach vacation is the pool. And here at Compass Cove Resort, we’ve got some awesome water features to keep them entertained for hours. But when it’s time to dry off for awhile, we’ve still got prime options for entertaining your kiddos: start by checking out the Compass Cove kids club for fun activities throughout your stay!
The kids club at Compass Cove begins June 3 and will run from noon until 4:30 or 5 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays through the summer. Fridays the kids club will run also run normal activities from noon until around 5, and then from 5 to 7 p.m. or so, there will be a parents’ night out pizza and movie party! The exact schedule may change from week to week, so be sure to check for the up-to-date schedule when you arrive at the resort.
“This year we’re trying some different activities than we did in the past,” said Taylor Robinson, front desk manager at Compass Cove. “One of the new activities that we’re excited about is an educational live animal show that will be here every Tuesday and Friday from noon to 1 p.m. We saw a preview of the show and it’s really cool and includes snakes and a little alligator.” The animal show will take place on the pool deck, but most kids club events will get started at the Compass Rose, Compass Cove’s onsite restaurant.
The kids club is for kids 5-12, but parents are welcome to join and participate in the activity, whether it’s a scavenger hunt, craft activity such as T-shirt tie-dyeing or games. Most activities are free, but for some, there may be a small charge for supplies, generally $1-$3. One popular activity for which there is a small charge is a rubber duck race that’s held in the lazy river—but all proceeds from the rubber duck races benefit the American Heart Association. “That’s a huge hit,” Robinson said.
“We do ask parents to check in from time to time—they don’t necessarily have to come by between every activity, but a check-in is good,” she said.
So get ready for good times for kids at Compass Cove Resort in Myrtle Beach — fun that goes beyond the pool!
