Scott and Candace Medley of Alcoa, TN, have been making memories in Myrtle Beach for years. They took their first couples trip together on the Grand Strand, and later got married on the beach and spent their honeymoon here.
But their latest trip in May topped them all, their first family vacation with son Rielan, 4, and daughter Paisley, 1. And nothing made their first trip to the beach more magical than a stay at Compass Cove Resort.
“I did a lot of research looking for family-friendly hotels, and Compass Cove just stood out from all the others,” said Candace. “It was out first vacation as a family and it couldn’t have been more perfect.”
The Medley family visited Broadway at the Beach, played a little putt-putt golf and enjoyed a nice family dinner at Flamingo Grill. But they were pleasantly surprised by how much quality time they were able to spend with the kids at the resort.
Among the many amenities offered at Compass Cove, the Medleys specifically enjoyed all the fun designed for children. There was no need to pack the family in the car and go looking for fun when it was all in their back yard.
“It’s so hard with kids because you have a to pack a million things, but everything was so close and convenient that it was easy to go to the beach, back to the room, or to the kids area, which was their favorite part,” she said.
“The kids loved all the pools and play areas, and they even rode on the waterslides. Paisley rode down in my lap and I was worried she would be afraid, but as soon as we got to the bottom she said, “I wanna go again.’ ”
Now the Medley family is saying the same thing about Compass Cove. They are already planning their next Myrtle Beach vacation, but they don’t have to worry about finding a place to stay.
“Compass Cove was so perfect for families and everybody there was so nice,” she said. “We will definitely be back.”
