Compass Cove Resort Entertainment: Music and Fun!

One of the best things about coming to visit Compass Cove Resort in Myrtle Beach is how much you can do, see, and enjoy all from the grounds of our resort. From the 22 pool features to our onsite restaurants, free unlimited DVD rentals, game room, gift shop and business center, you’ll have easy access just about everything you need from the moment you arrive until it’s time to go home.

And that includes daily entertainment onsite nearly every day, all summer long!

Here are a few highlights of the entertainment you can enjoy this summer when you’re staying at Compass Cove Resort:

• At the Crow’s Nest – located on the 2nd floor of the Pinnacle building

Wednesday nights from 7 to 11 p.m. enjoy the comedy and music of Bil Kraus.

“He’s an acoustic guitar comedian,” said Paul Maltese, the food and beverage director at Compass Cove. “Bil is very interactive with the crowd. He can just ask people their names and where they’re from, and sing a whole song for them.”

“We will also do karaoke and a D.J. three or four nights a week in the Crow’s Nest. Miriam usually comes down and hosts, and she’s great,” Maltese said. “Then on the other nights, we’ll sometimes have live acoustic music or a two-piece duo in the Crow’s Nest.”

One popular group is Tammy’s Tangent. “They do a little bit of rock, a little bit of country, a little bit of top 40. It’s a nice variety.”

The Crow’s Nest is open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. in the summer and noon to 11 p.m. in the off-season.

• At the Tiki Hut – located on the ocean in front of the Schooner building

“We have a ton of live entertainment at the Tiki Hut in June, July and August,” Maltese said. The Tiki Hut is open from 11 a.m. until dusk “or when the party dies down” during the summer, and noon until dusk in the off-season.

One popular act is The Fab 2, twin brothers who specialize in The Beatles tributes. “People will come off the beach when they hear them in order to come and listen to them. They do other music from that period too, like the Monkees and the Bee Gees, but mostly it’s The Beatles. It’s really high-energy and fun.” Laid Back Larry also plays regularly at the Tiki Hut, bringing mellow beach tunes and Jimmy Buffet numbers.

The Tiki Hut entertainment livens up the outdoor deck from about 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesdays through Saturdays during the peak season.

So whether you’re into indoor evening entertainment at the Crow’s Nest or outdoor fun in the sunshine at the Tiki Hut, you can be sure to have a great time at Compass Cove.
