There are so many fun things to do in Myrtle Beach, it’s pretty much impossible to get bored here. But if you’re looking to be amazed with the kind of top-notch entertainment the caliber of which you’d expect to find in Las Vegas, you may wan to give the Palace Theatre a try.
The Palace Theatre is located at Broadway at the Beach, about a 15-minute drive from Compass Cove Resort. This summer, the big show at the Palace Theatre is Illusions of Magic, an action-packed magic and dance extravaganza.
The show stars magician Dale Scott, who leads the audience through illusions that run the gamut from classic sleight of hand to extravagant disappearing acts and one that includes a majestic white Bengal tiger. The show is also peppered with high-energy dance numbers with amazing and ever-changing costumes that touch on futuristic themes, as well as ancient civilizations, pop tunes from the top of the charts, and even a nod to some of the most famous magicians of all time, including Harry Houdini.
Illusions of Magic will continue its run at the Palace Theatre through Sept. 28.
Another great show this season at the Palace Theatre is Hot Jersey Nights, a musical tribute to the songs of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. After a spring run, it will return to the Palace in the fall of 2013, as well as for a Christmas Spectacular from November 1-December 28. The iconic music will be the focus of the show, and those who love listening to amazing singers sing songs you know by heart will be in heaven!
